Black car service in Mississauga

Pearson is inside Mississauga's city limits, which makes the airport run the shortest in the GTA and the city's black car trade the busiest outside downtown Toronto. Here is how it works, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

Mississauga from the driver's seat

Mississauga — Canada's seventh-largest city, west of Toronto along the lake and around Pearson — contains the airport within its boundaries, which puts every neighbourhood within 10 to 25 minutes of the terminals: Square One and the City Centre, Port Credit and the lakeshore, Streetsville, Erin Mills, Meadowvale, Cooksville, Malton and the airport corporate corridor. Downtown Toronto is 25 to 50 minutes east via the QEW or 401; the fares are fixed for any address.

Mississauga is the airport's city, and its black car trade reflects it: the five-minute run from the corporate corridor's hotels and offices to Door A, the fifteen-minute run from a Port Credit condominium at 5 a.m., the family in Erin Mills with six bags and two car seats, the International Centre's trade-show delegates, the banquet halls on Dixie and Derry that host the region's South Asian weddings. It is also a city of 800,000 with its own downtown at Square One, its own lakeshore villages, and its own reasons to go to Toronto — a Leafs game, a Yorkville dinner, the theatre — and back. This page covers the neighbourhoods and their pickups, the three highways and when each wins, the airport corridor's hotels, the corporate accounts, the weddings, the hospitals, and a day worked through.

The neighbourhoods and their pickups

City Centre and Square One (Hurontario and Burnhamthorpe): the mall's entrances off Rathburn and the Square One Drive loop, the Celebration Square and civic centre, the Living Arts Centre, and the towers that have made the City Centre a residential downtown — pickups at the buildings' porte-cochères on the side streets; Hurontario's LRT construction changes the lanes month by month. Port Credit (Lakeshore Road at the Credit River): the village's shops and restaurants along Lakeshore, the harbour and lighthouse, the waterfront condominiums, and the GO station; pickups on the side streets or the buildings' loops, and the summer festivals' closures on dispatch's calendar. Clarkson and Lorne Park to the west along the lake: estate streets and the Clarkson GO. Streetsville (Queen Street at the Credit): the village main street with pickups on the side streets. Erin Mills and Meadowvale: the suburban west with Erin Mills Town Centre, the Credit Valley Hospital and the Meadowvale corporate campuses. Cooksville, Applewood and Dixie: the older east with the Cooksville GO, the Dixie Road banquet halls and the Trillium Hospital. Malton and the airport corridor (Airport Road, Derry Road, the 427 and Dixon corridor): the hotels, the office parks and the terminals themselves. The Mississauga guide has the street notes.

Three highways, and the airport from each neighbourhood

Mississauga is crossed by the QEW along the lake, the 403 through its middle (with the 410 to Brampton and the 401 across the north), and the 401 at its northern edge past the airport; the 407 runs beyond the 401 and rarely matters for Mississauga trips. Pearson's terminals are reached from the 427 at Dixon Road or from Airport Road, and the run from each neighbourhood is short: the corporate corridor, 5 to 10 minutes; Malton, 10; City Centre and Cooksville, 12 to 20 via the 403 and 401 or Hurontario and Derry; Port Credit and Clarkson, 15 to 25 via the QEW and 427; Erin Mills and Meadowvale, 15 to 25 via the 403 and 401. At the peaks the 401's Mississauga stretch and the 403's interchange with it add ten to twenty minutes, and the chauffeur chooses between the highways and the arterials (Dixie, Eglinton, Derry) by the live conditions. The Pearson to Mississauga guide works the decision by neighbourhood; the Pearson page has the procedure at the terminals.

The airport corporate corridor

Along Airport Road, Derry Road, the 427's frontage roads and the Dixon Road strip's Mississauga side sit the head offices and Canadian headquarters of airlines, logistics companies, pharmaceutical and consumer-goods firms, the airport's own offices and dozens of hotels — the Hilton, the Marriott, the Sheraton Gateway inside the terminal, the Westin, the Four Points and the rest. The corridor's black car work is the five-minute terminal transfer (booked because a 5 a.m. flight does not wait for a shuttle), client pickups at Door A with meet and greet, hourly days for visiting executives who never leave the corridor, and the downtown run for delegates who want a Toronto evening. Corporate accounts hold the building's lay-by; the airport strip guide covers the hotels' porte-cochères, and the consultants' article the Monday-out, Thursday-back pattern that the corridor's companies run.

The International Centre and trade show season

The International Centre on Airport Road at Derry is one of the largest exhibition venues in Canada — trade shows, consumer shows, the wedding and bridal shows, cultural festivals — and its halls fill the corridor's hotels for weeks each season. Delegates arrive from Pearson in Sprinters and sedans (a five-minute run), exhibitors' load-in uses the halls' loading docks with the venue's direction, and VIP pickups are at the halls' main entrances; the International Centre guide covers the venue's traffic plan and the trade show season article the calendar shared with Toronto's convention centre and Exhibition Place.

Weddings and the banquet halls

Mississauga's banquet halls — the Dixie Road corridor, the Derry Road halls, the halls on Matheson and the 410 — host a large share of the GTA's South Asian, Italian, Portuguese and Polish weddings, and the city's own venues (the Living Arts Centre, the Mississauga Convention Centre, the Port Credit waterfront, the Adamson Estate, the Glenerin Inn) host the rest. The transport plan is the wedding page's with the city's specifics: short distances between the temples and churches and the halls, a baraat that closes a plaza's entrance with the hall's cooperation, a guest bus from the corridor's hotels, and a couple's stretch that photographs at Port Credit's lighthouse or the Riverwood Conservancy. The South Asian weddings guide covers the multi-day plans that Mississauga's halls host most weekends from spring to autumn.

Hospitals and healthcare

Trillium Health Partners' Mississauga Hospital on the Queensway and Credit Valley Hospital on Eglinton at Erin Mills are the city's hospitals, each with an entrance loop and the standing-order pattern for older residents' appointments; the downtown Toronto hospitals on University Avenue are 30 to 45 minutes east. The seniors' guide and the medical appointments article describe the weekly arrangements, which Mississauga's large communities of older residents in the City Centre towers and the Cooksville corridor use.

Downtown Toronto for the evening

Mississauga to the Financial District is the QEW and Gardiner from Port Credit (25 to 35 minutes off-peak, 45 to 70 at the peaks) or the 403, 401 and 427 to the Gardiner from the City Centre (30 to 40 off-peak, 50 to 80 at the peaks); a Leafs game, a Yorkville dinner or a Mirvish show is an hourly booking with the arena or theatre guide's pickup and the chauffeur waiting downtown. Mississauga's own evenings — the Port Credit patios, the City Centre's restaurants, the Streetsville and Clarkson rooms — are short hops with pickups on the side streets.

Mississauga's communities and multilingual service

Mississauga is among the most diverse cities in the country — South Asian, Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Filipino and Caribbean communities among many — and our chauffeur team speaks its languages; a booking can request Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic or Tagalog, and for relatives arriving at Pearson to visit family in Mississauga, meet and greet with a chauffeur who speaks their language is the booking we make most often for the city. Tell us at booking.

Oakville, Brampton and the neighbours

Mississauga's neighbours are ten to twenty minutes away: Oakville west along the QEW, Brampton north up the 410, Etobicoke east across the creek (the Etobicoke guide covers the Toronto side of the border), and Milton and the 401 west corridor. A Mississauga family's trip to a Brampton wedding or an Oakville dinner is a short fixed fare; the Hamilton airport is 40 to 55 minutes down the QEW and a genuine alternative for sun flights.

A Mississauga day, in cars

4:45 a.m. — a sedan from a Port Credit condominium to Terminal 1 via the QEW and 427, seventeen minutes. 7:30 — the school run: an SUV from Lorne Park to a private school in Oakville, a standing order. 10:00 — a Punjabi-speaking chauffeur meets a family at Door A with a name board and delivers them to a Malton address in ten minutes. 11:30 — a Marriott Airport delegate to the International Centre, five minutes, and back at 5. 2:00 p.m. — a Cooksville couple's standing Tuesday car to Trillium Hospital and the pharmacy. 6:00 — a Sprinter from an Erin Mills home to a Derry Road banquet hall for a wedding reception, hourly, home at 1 a.m. 7:00 — a City Centre couple to a Yorkville restaurant via the 403 and Gardiner, waiting, home at 10:30. Every trip a fixed fare.

Booking a car in Mississauga

The engine prices any Mississauga address; the notes field takes the building, the hall or the hotel and any language request. Corporate accounts and standing orders cover the corridor's and the families' recurring trips.

Port Credit's summer and the lakeshore

Port Credit is the city's waterfront village, and its summer calendar — the Southside Shuffle blues festival in September, the Waterfront Festival in June, the Canada Day fireworks, the Saturday farmers' market — closes Lakeshore Road for weekends at a time; dispatch has the dates and the chauffeur names a pickup on the side streets or at the marina's lot. A summer evening in Port Credit from Toronto — the QEW twenty-five minutes, dinner on a Lakeshore patio, a walk to the lighthouse — is an hourly booking our downtown regulars make in July, and the Credit River's waterfront trail east to the Lakeview lands and west to Jack Darling Park is the village's setting. Lakeshore Road continues west through Clarkson to Oakville's border and east through Lakeview to Etobicoke's; the Oakville guide covers the next village along.

The Hurontario LRT and Mississauga's changing streets

The Hazel McCallion Line, the light rail under construction along Hurontario Street from Port Credit to Brampton, has closed lanes and turns along the city's main north-south street for years, and its stations at Square One, Cooksville and Port Credit change the pickups at each; dispatch reads Metrolinx's notices so the chauffeur is on the side that is open, and the construction season article explains the routing. When it opens, the LRT will connect the GO stations to the City Centre and change how the city's residents reach the airport's edge — but not the terminals, which will remain a car's job.

Students, the university and Sheridan

The University of Toronto Mississauga on Mississauga Road in the west and Sheridan College's Hazel McCallion campus at Square One bring student traffic — Pearson pickups for international students with meet and greet, convocation cars in June, the family car on move-in weekend — and the campuses' loops are on the chauffeur's map; the convocation article covers the days, and the unaccompanied minors guide the handovers a parent abroad books for a child landing alone.

Booking notes for Mississauga

Three small things. For the airport corridor's hotels, give the terminal at booking; a car at Terminal 1 for a WestJet passenger is a train ride wasted. For Square One and the City Centre towers, name the tower and its side-street entrance, because Hurontario's curbs are construction. For the banquet halls, agree the porte-cochère and the baraat's route with the hall the week before; the chauffeurs who take Mississauga's weddings will do it for you.
