What we are
BlackCarLimousineService.ca is a Toronto-based, City of Toronto-licensed limousine operator running chauffeured black sedans, SUVs, Sprinter vans, stretch limousines and limo buses across the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Quebec and the US Northeast. We are not a directory and not a broker: the vehicles on this site are the classes we operate, the chauffeurs are ours or long-term contracted owner-operators who work only for us, and the phone is answered by our own dispatch at every hour. When we use a partner vehicle — which happens on the handful of nights a year the whole city books at once, and for bookings beyond our own range — we tell you at booking, and the partner is a licensed operator held to the same standard through the Limousine Association International.
The domain is the brand, deliberately. There are other companies in Toronto with similar names; we are the one at this address, with this phone number, and everything on this site is ours.
How we work
Every trip is pre-arranged, priced before it happens, and assigned to a named chauffeur the evening before. Fares are fixed and do not surge. Airport pickups are timed to the aircraft, meet at the airport's designated door and include a free wait that covers customs. Vehicles are black, late-model, retired at five model years, inspected on Ontario's commercial schedule and detailed before every dispatch. Chauffeurs are licensed by the City after criminal-record and driving-abstract checks, trained in defensive driving and in the parts of the job that are not driving, and are held to an on-time standard we measure and report to corporate clients. The standards we hold ourselves to, in writing
- Licensed: City of Toronto limousine licences on every vehicle; vehicle-for-hire driver licences for every chauffeur; GTAA permits for Pearson.
- Insured: commercial passenger liability well above the provincial minimum, certificates available to clients.
- Inspected: Ontario semi-annual commercial inspections, plus our own monthly checks on stretch vehicles in season.
- On time: the car is in position before the booked time; airport pickups are timed to the actual arrival.
- Fixed fares: the confirmation is the price; no surge, no hidden fees, gratuity optional.
- Winter-ready: winter tires on every vehicle from November through April.
- Discreet: who travelled and where is nobody's business.
- Honest: we say when a vehicle is the wrong choice, when a date is too busy, and when an alternative is cheaper.
Why this site has no reviews or testimonials
Because we cannot prove them to you, and unprovable praise is worth nothing. Toronto's limousine market is full of five-star testimonials attributed to first names, and a passenger has no way to tell the real from the written. Rather than add to that, we have written two hundred articles that show what we know about the trade — the Journal — and we let the reservation engine, the phone and the trip do the rest. We are listed on the Limousine Worldwide Directory, the register travellers use to confirm an operator is licensed and reachable, and we subscribe to the standards of the Limousine Association International, whose affiliates carry our clients beyond Ontario. The Journal
The two hundred articles in the Journal are the heart of this site. They cover Pearson door by door, the fare line by line, every neighbourhood and 905 city we serve, the events that close Toronto's roads, weddings hour by hour, the fleet vehicle by vehicle, the chauffeur's profession and the day trips from the city. They are written by people who do this work, they are updated when the facts change, and they cite the airport authority, the City, the Province and the venues rather than each other. If a fact in one is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
